Popping in for a quick second to drop a little sunshine. Because who couldn’t use some extra sunshine?
Fun fact: Tuesday was a big deal for a lot of reasons, but in our little corner of the world, it was ALL about celebrating this little beauty’s 9th birthday.
Then on Wednesday I was doing that lovely task we all love so much of sorting clothes that are too big || too small || in season || out of season.
I came upon this sweatshirt that has been in the bottom of Libby’s bin since May 2012. Yep, it came home with her from California. Nanny and Pops had bought it for her in the smallest size they could find (a 7/8) and we were to save it until it fit.
This shirt has lived, lying in wait, in 3 different homes, in 3 different towns, in 2 different states, for 8.5 long years. It’s been waiting for a girl who has had good days and bad, long hair and short, new friends and old. But the love with which it was given has remained constant – everywhere we go.
The message on the arm: “Take your love everywhere you go.” This girl – our election day birthday girl – she does just that.
She knows nothing of all the ugly, all the uncertainty, all the unrest that many of us can’t seem to shut out.
She brings smiles.
She spreads love.
She shares hope.
Everywhere she goes.
I hope she brings a little peace to your heart today.
